This past February of 2020 I participated in my very first mission trip. It was the most humbling experience ever and I can say now that it has left me hungry for more. At first, I must admit, I was extremely nervous about taking part in this trip as I had never been to a foreign country, let alone with a group of complete strangers.
In preparation for the trip, time truly flew by. All the workshops and trainings I attended made the final date even closer, and yet part of me still did not process that information - the fact that, soon, I would be walking the streets of a new city. Even as I was driving to the airport, I still couldn't believe what I was about to do. However, now that I am on the other side of the bridge, I can say that I couldn't be happier that I gathered the courage to do something like this.
I have walked away from this experience with rewarding feelings I will forever hold. For one, the satisfaction that we, as a group, touched, in one way or another, the lives of 1,057 people.
